Kodaikanal International School in southern India is opening its new experiential learning centre to middle and high school students. English teachers are developing their own lessons around computer programming for students as young as age 5 as part of the new national curriculum. Headteachers in England are being asked to do more to quell bad behaviour in classrooms after a survey by the watchdog group Ofsted found many teachers dissatisfied with leaders' response to disruptions. The Department for Education says it is committed to improving the situation by relaxing detention rules and giving headteachers final say in expulsions. Homeschooling in Dubai is largely unregulated, according to the Knowledge and Human Development Authority. About 4,000 students have signed up for homeschooling, but the authority says many expatriate students are learning at home, too.
