A Kaiser Family Foundation report says more than 7 out of 10 Medicare patients did not consider changes in their Medicare Advantage plan in 2018 and some discovered their medications were not covered after their plan changed. Low-income patients, those who reside in rural areas and those in poorer health were most likely not to examine their plan and compare it with others, according to the report.

Goldman Sachs has dropped its target for economic growth to 5.6% from 5.7% for 2021 and to 4% from 4.4% for 2022, citing an expected contraction of federal relief and a slower-than-expected recovery in consumer spending.

Moderna is seeking FDA authorization to offer a half-dose COVID-19 vaccine booster to enhance protection against the coronavirus, but a report issued by FDA scientists on Tuesday declined to take a position on the request. FDA scientists previously did not take a position on the Pfizer/BioNTech booster that was later authorized, and they said the two-dose standard regimen still provides sufficient protection against severe disease and death.

Pacira BioSciences is set to acquire Flexion in a deal worth $450 million, with the transaction expected to be finalized by the end of the 2021. The buyout grants Pacira access to Flexion's lead product Zilretta, a non-opioid treatment for osteoarthritis of the knee.
