AT&T is reportedly in talks with TPG Capital over DIRECTV stock as part of the tech and media giant's effort to reduce its debt. Sources told Reuters that TPG's share wouldn't give it majority ownership, and that DIRECTV's value could be at least $15 billion.

NBCUniversal will close down NBCSN before 2021 ends and start simulcasting some sports events on USA Network during the year. The company, which owns rights to NASCAR races as well as games from English Premier League soccer and the National Hockey League, will also relocate some coverage to Peacock.

MoffettNathanson reports that 62% of Apple TV+ subscribers are not paying for the service and, among that population, 29% plan to drop it once their free promotional windows expire. Customers on free promotional plans only make up 16% of Disney+ users, and roughly 23% of those watching HBO Max.

"Godzilla vs. Kong" battle is coming to HBO Max

"Godzilla vs. Kong" will appear on HBO Max starting March 26, the same day it starts airing in theaters, and remain available for 31 days. Alexander Skarsgard and Millie Bobby Brown star in the movie alongside the eponymous monsters.

Data shows 5 months of ad growth in a row

The US Ad Market Tracker shows that spending on advertising rose 7.2% year-over-year during December 2020, marking the fifth month in a row of such growth. Most of the expansion came from marketers in the 10 largest categories, and budgets largely seem to be shifting toward digital media.
