Digital payment startup adds value to Walmart's Flipkart stake
Walmart's $16 billion acquisition of a controlling stake in Indian e-commerce player Flipkart Online Services last year included a digital payment subsidiary called PhonePe that's rapidly emerging as a startup valued as high as $10 billion. The company is now exploring the idea of raising about $1 billion by spinning the PhonePe off into a separate company, sources said.

Macy's taps Dick's Sporting Goods for newest Story concept

Macy's launched its second iteration of concept shop Story this week, with an "Outdoor" theme for summer featuring goods including private-label products from sponsor Dick's Sporting Goods. The in-store shops at 36 Macy's locations, including the New York City flagship, will also sell plants and gardening-related products from Miracle-Gro.

Crate & Barrel will open an eatery called The Table at Crate in a store in the Chicago market this month, to create a new in-store experience designed to bring shoppers back more often. The home goods retailer has teamed with Cornerstone Restaurant Group and chef Bill Kim to run the restaurant, where most of the plates and furniture will be available for purchase.
