Netflix added just 3.98 million streaming subscribers worldwide in the first quarter after adding 15.77 million a year ago as the COVID-19 pandemic set in. The tiny subscriber growth rate sent Netflix shares 10% lower in after market trading Tuesday.

NFL Media said Tuesday that it has reached a multi-year carriage agreement with Hulu that will bring its NFL Network and NFL RedZone to Hulu Plus Live TV subscribers beginning Aug. 1.

Verizon reported the loss of another 82,000 Fios TV customers in the first quarter, leaving the pay TV service with just 3.77 million customers. That's the lowest total since the first quarter of 2011, when Verizon's then red-hot Fios TV service added 192,000 subscribers.

Roku said that it will launch a Roku Originals brand starting with the content it acquired from Quibi, the short-lived short-form mobile-first subscription services that folded last year. The Quibi programming will be appearing on the Roku Channel as early as next month.
