Teacher-preparation programs could do more to bolster their admissions processes and improve teacher training around science, technology, engineering and math, according to a recent report from the National Council on Teaching Quality. Kate Walsh, NCTQ's president, says school-district leaders should work closer with college programs to ensure teacher-training programs meet schools' needs.
