Social media, blogs and video games benefit education by giving students -- and their teachers -- increased access to people and resources, according to a recent report by the Brookings Institution. Experts at a recent panel also discussed the role that such technology plays in providing valuable data for teachers, saying data from students playing video games or using social media websites can help teachers address students' individual learning needs.
