Study recommends vitamin D dosages for children with IBD
Children and adolescents with inflammatory bowel disease who need large dosages of vitamin D did better taking 2,000 international units of vitamin D3 daily for six weeks or a 50,000-IU dose of vitamin D2 weekly, rather than 2,000 IU of vitamin D2 per day, according to a Children's Hospital Boston study. Low vitamin D is common in children with IBD, researchers said.
