HPV causes 26,000 U.S. cancer cases annually, CDC says
About 26,000 cancer cases in the U.S. can be attributed directly to human papillomavirus annually, of which 18,000 occur in women and 8,000 in men, CDC researchers wrote in the Morbidity & Mortality Weekly Report. From 2004 to 2008, the total annual incidence of cancer cases associated with HPV was 33,369, researchers reported.
