Decline in birth defects seen among babies conceived through ART
Data on more than 207,000 births in Western Australia from 1994 to 2002 showed a decline in the number of babies conceived through assisted reproduction techniques who were diagnosed with a birth defect by age 6. Researchers said that improvements in clinical practice may have played a role in lowering the number of birth defects among ART babies. The findings appear in journal Obstetrics & Gynecology.
