Study: Prenatal use of OTC NSAIDs doesn't increase miscarriage risk
Taking over-the-counter nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen and naproxen during the first trimester of pregnancy was not associated with a greater risk of miscarriage, according to a study published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal. However, the data on more than 65,000 women found that the risk of pregnancy loss was higher among women who took the prescription NSAID indomethacin and Cox-2 inhibitors such as celecoxib.
