The New York City Investment Fund, New York state Department of Health and New York eHealth Collaborative have introduced the New York Digital Health Accelerator initiative. The $4.2 million program is intended to promote health IT innovation and add 1,500 new employment opportunities. It will award 12 HIT firms in the early and growth-stage with as much as $300,000 along with mentorship from senior executives. The emphasis will be on the aspects of innovation that will contribute to the state's Medicaid "Health Homes" program and Medicaid Redesign Team.
