VA awards EHR contract to Harris
The Department of Veterans Affairs has awarded Melbourne, Fla.-based Harris a multiyear contract worth $80.3 million to design a platform that leverages a services-oriented architecture for the agency's proposed joint EHR with the Department of Defense. The platform should offer "a common federated middleware as a secure, virtualized, intelligent infrastructure allowing best-of-breed 'cloud-first' services for all members of the DoD and VA health care systems," Harris said in a news release.
