Fiber potential seen in flaxseed gum
Research published in Food Hydrocolloids indicates gums produced from flaxseed fiber could be used to provide soluble fiber in foods. "Soluble dietary fiber with low viscosity has the potential to deliver acceptable mouthfeel and texture," the report says. "Soluble flaxseed gum was reported to have low viscosity, and thus has potential in applications as a fiber fortifier."
