Study links obesity, BMI to gastrointestinal symptoms
An analysis of 21 studies links certain gastrointestinal symptoms, such as gastroesophageal reflux and diarrhea, with higher body mass index and obesity. Australian researchers said obese patients were almost three times as likely to have upper abdominal pain, but the analysis found no association between obesity and lower abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, nausea, fecal incontinence or anal blockage.
