CDC releases statistics on full-calorie beverage consumption
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released data on Wednesday revealing that half of Americans drink sugar-sweetened beverages on any given day. A coalition, including the American Heart Association, announced its campaign to reduce consumption of full-calorie beverages. The American Beverage Association's Chris Gindlesperger said, "People are drinking fewer full-calorie, sugar-sweetened beverages due to industry innovation in bringing no- and low-calorie beverages to the market."
