Giant rig built for heavy seas
Denmark's Maersk has introduced the world's largest jack-up drilling rig, with extendable legs up to 678 feet long for drilling in rough waters up to 500 feet deep. The rig is one of a series of four that will accommodate crews of 150, each with a cabin of his own, with access to a movie theater, gym, game room and an Internet cafe. As for the business end of the mission, the rig is capable of drilling as deep as 40,000 feet.
