Retail sales gain, but average price slides
Analysis from Channel Intelligence shows that year-over-year retail sales increased 30% in the second quarter, but the average sale price dropped 15%. "The good news is that consumers are spending," said CEO Rob Wight. "But it is worth noting that they are buying less-expensive items. This might be an indicator of what spending habits will be like during the holiday season."
