Fertility drugs more than double children's risk for leukemia
Children born to mothers treated with ovary-stimulating drugs had a 2.6 times higher risk of developing acute lymphoblastic leukemia and were 2.3 times more likely to develop acute myeloid leukemia, a French study showed. Researchers found no evidence of increased childhood leukemia risk with either in vitro fertilization or artificial insemination. The findings were presented at the Childhood Cancer conference.
