Study: Low adiponectin level increases asthma risk in women
An analysis of data from the Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults study found that middle-aged women with low blood adiponectin levels had a twofold higher risk of developing asthma. The risk was particularly high among those who smoked. The findings appeared online in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
