Hilton CEO lays out plan to boost inbound tourism
U.S. hotels are not fully reaping the benefits of the global tourism industry because of the prohibitively long and complicated visa process that is turning away inbound travelers, Hilton Worldwide President and CEO Chris Nassetta said during the opening session at the Americas Lodging Investment Summit. "This is a really serious problem, a problem that's affecting our reputation around the world and, more importantly, is limiting the results of everybody in this room," Nassetta said. He outlined a five-step strategy to boost inbound tourism that includes updating the visa application process and enhancing the arrival experience at U.S. borders.
