Zhengzhou Zoo in China denies allegations of abuse over giant panda's death
Zhengzhou Zoo in China refuted claims of mistreatment after its 7-year-old female giant panda died of organ failure. The zoo, which initially said the panda was sent for mating, said the panda refused to eat starting Feb. 7 and died the morning of Feb. 9. "The panda even ate better food than people," the zoo said. "Some vegetables were even squashed before fed to her. There was absolutely no abusing."
