Woodland, California, approves plan for wakeboard park
Officials in Woodland, California, has approved a plan to build a new wakeboard cable park (a cable-tow facility that allows for boatless wakeboarding) dubbed Velocity Island Park. Guests will be able to water ski and body board but will not need a boat. "Velocity Island Park is a project that has the potential to be a Cable Park 'destination location' attracting wakeboard athletes from the immediate area extending to the entire west coast," said Paul Hanson, senior planner.
