Attendance grows 2.4% at National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland
A better economy helped boost attendance at the National Aquarium's Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.-area venues by 2.4% to 1.55 million guests in 2012. CEO John Racanelli also attributed the increase to the aquarium's focus on the interactive experience. He added that the aquarium has become an advocate for healthier oceans, noting, "The ocean is a life-support system for all of us that live on the planet."
