Portland's Oregon Zoo approved to move ahead with improvements
The Oregon Zoo received approval from the City of Portland to move forward with improvement projects that include a new conservation education facility and improved exhibits for polar bears, rhinos and primates. A $125 million bond passed by voters in 2008 will fund the projects, which are expected to take up to eight years to finish.
