  • Bobtail Drivers Must Be Prepared for Roadside Stops
    The Department of Transportation requires propane delivery drivers to inspect their vehicles and document all maintenance before driving on public highways. Bobtail drivers who are stopped by the police and don't have the proper paperwork could be fined as much as $2,500. The Propane Education & Research Council's E-Learning Propane Delivery Operations & Cylinder Delivery program includes training on roadside stops.
