  • Give the mower a maintenance check for a carefree spring
To avoid problems in spring, give the lawn mower a maintenance check to ensure that it will run properly, says Margaret Wicks, co-owner of the Mid Coast Mower & Saw in Atascadero, Calif. "Print them on wallet-size cards, have them in your e-mail signature line and/or have an artist come up with pleasing wall hangings," Asmus suggests.
