Is the U.S. taking the wrong path to gender equity?
Brazil has a greater percentage of women in senior executive positions than the U.S. does, according to a 2012 Grant Thornton report. While countries such as the U.S. have tried to treat men and women as if they are the same, Brazil has taken a different approach, writes Avivah Wittenberg-Cox of 20-first. "Rather than seek equality through sameness, Brazil accentuates differences between genders. ... Brazil's diversity-celebrating ethos seems to help women rather than hinder them," she writes.

Flexibility helps software startup perfect its pricing
Pricing the first product offered by software company gShift Labs proved to be a challenge. At first, the company decided to charge $99 per month to use its search-engine optimization software to track one URL. Eventually, however, the company moved to a pricing model based on keywords. The newer model helped the company to improve sales and gross profit margins.

Riedel specialty wine glasses enhance flavor, complexity
As the Riedel line of specialty wine glasses with shapes designed for heightened tasting of specific grapes grow in popularity, Guardian writer Felicity Cloake takes an Australian chardonnay for a test run in a glass made for aromatic white whines and finds marked improvement over regular wine glasses. "The design of the tailored glass spreads it evenly around my mouth, bringing out far more exciting flavours of pineapple, smoke, even minerality," she writes.
