How to keep a dress code policy from landing you in legal trouble
A dress code can help keep your workers looking their best as they interact with customers, but there are legal considerations to keep in mind, writes Jennifer K. Halford. Show your policy to an attorney, and make sure that it doesn't disproportionately burden a protected class of people. "In some instances a policy may treat men and women differently," she writes. "However, the policy cannot place a greater burden on women."

Starbucks at Disney: Wake up and smell the mouse blend
Starbucks is coming to Disney resort properties and theme parks. The first of six sites will open at Disney's California Adventure in June, where baristas will wear period attire to mix in with the 1920s theme. "I don't expect to see Mickey drinking coffee any time soon," says Ron Paul, president of Technomic, a research firm. "But from a marketing perspective, you have two iconic brands coming together, which has to be a positive."
