AT&T will debut $500 Samsung broadband camera with Android
AT&T will begin selling Samsung's new Android 4.1-based point-and-shoot digital Galaxy Camera -- complete with 4G connectivity -- for $500 on Friday, the carrier disclosed. The 16-megapixel, 21x-zoom camera can retrieve Android applications from the online Google Play store and allows users to share photos. AT&T has expanded its Enhanced Push-to-Talk service, making it commercially available to businesses of all sizes following a limited release. Africa's broadband uptake is driven by mobile, M2M
About two-thirds of the population of Africa has access to mobile coverage, making wireless technology -- including machine-to-machine connectivity -- the driving force for expanding broadband across the continent, industry representatives say. Alan Knott-Craig, CEO of South African mobile operator Cell C, says wireless technologies such as 4G Long-Term Evolution and the entrance of additional operators into the market will lead to service stability and will eventually bring costs down. Toyota smart cars get a workout at test facility
Toyota says it's testing a line of smart cars designed to minimize the risk of wrecks by communicating with other vehicles and sensors installed on the road.
