  • Adventuredome in Las Vegas will add new roller coaster
    The Adventuredome theme park at Circus Circus in Las Vegas, Nevada, soon will start construction on a new roller coaster with a 70-foot drop. The 75-second "El Loco" roller coaster also will feature a 45-degree banked outward turn and a "greater-than-straight-down diving drop." The ride is designed by S&S Worldwide of Logan, Utah.   • Lo-Q lands contract with Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark
    Lo-Q received a contract to provide its Q-band technology at the Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark in Tannersville, Pennsylvania. The band will allow guests to reserve a "virtual" space at popular slides.   • Woodland, California, approves plan for wakeboard park
    Officials in Woodland, California, has approved a plan to build a new wakeboard cable park (a cable-tow facility that allows for boatless wakeboarding) dubbed Velocity Island Park. Guests will be able to water ski and body board but will not need a boat. "Velocity Island Park is a project that has the potential to be a Cable Park 'destination location' attracting wakeboard athletes from the immediate area extending to the entire west coast," said Paul Hanson, senior planner.
