    The American Oil Chemists' Society and Cargill have worked together to improve the methods used for verifying oil quality in foods.   • Sustainable palm oil capacity is increasing quickly, RSPO says
    The market is accepting sustainable palm oil at a significant pace, Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil Secretary General Darrel Webber says. Since the program began issuing certifications in 2008, certified palm oil production has reached 6 million metric tons a year.   • Study: Omega-3s may not help multiple sclerosis
    A study suggests that omega-3 fatty acids do not benefit patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis. The fatty acids were thought to be an anti-inflammatory and have neuro-protective benefits in the disease. The study appeared online in the Archives of Neurology. Harry Rice of the Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3 said conclusions cannot be drawn from the study.
