    Data on 1,000 adults in Southern California showed those who reported eating chocolate more often had lower BMIs compared with those who ate it less often, even though their overall calorie intake was higher and they didn't exercise more. However, the findings do not prove that frequent chocolate consumption leads to weight loss, researchers reported in the Archives of Internal Medicine.   • Big Sugar lashes out at cupcake shops in DC
    The Washington Examiner posted a tongue-in-cheek blog questioning the American Sugar Alliance's attack on CakeLove and other cupcake shops in the Washington, D.C. area. The ASA criticized CakeLove owner Warren Brown for going to Capitol Hill to lobby for a change in U.S. sugar policy, along with the Coalition for Sugar Reform and NCA President Larry Graham, saying that Brown's economic woes were "hard to believe" with so many customers lining up to buy his gourmet product.
