    Aeros has completed tests of a new type of aircraft that will be able to take off and land vertically and will not require either a ground crew or a runway.     Russell Smith is not a pilot, but he has been interested in aviation since childhood. He is now an artist who specializes in aviation art, especially aircraft from the World War I era.
