- Analysis: NGLs offer potential for Ohio specialty chemicals, polymers
Natural gas liquids from Ohio's Utica Shale could boost the state's specialty chemicals and polymer industries, writes Dave Karpinski, a director at NorTech Energy Enterprise. "In fact, the energy and chemical industries are anchor industries in Ohio, so any developments that benefit both of them should receive strong support statewide," Karpinski writes. - Lanxess opens auto-nylon production facility in N.C.
Lanxess has started operating a manufacturing site in Gastonia, N.C., that produces compounds of Durethan-brand automotive nylon and Pocan-brand polybutylene terephthalate.
