According to a comScore study evaluating physicians' Web and device use, EMRs saw the greatest number of visits per site and the longest duration of use compared with other websites for health care professionals. - Report: 57% of U.S. health groups employ patient portal technology
A KLAS report indicated that 57% of U.S. health groups are now using patient portals and that most providers are choosing EMR vendors for their portal systems. Among the most preferred portal systems are those from Epic, Cerner, Intuit Health, Next Gen, Relay Health, Jardogs and MEDSEEK, with Epic's MyChart solution leading the pack. Healthcare IT News

People with diabetes, as well as diabetes drug- and device makers, have started online blogs and networks to share experiences and information about living with diabetes. Some drugmakers have faced criticism for compensating or sponsoring blogs, and some critics have called for stronger FDA and Federal Trade Commission disclosure rules. The Michigan Health Information Network is collaborating with HIPAAT International to use the company's personal health information consent management and auditing platform.
