The optimistic outlook on the economy is at an eight-year high, according to a recent poll by Bloomberg Businessweek. • How restaurants can target growing demographics
Three groups -- Hispanics, adults over 55, and children under 11 -- are showing the most growth when it comes to foodservice spending, according to the president of Sloan Trends, Liz Sloan. • Indoor golf allows snowy Sun Valley to capture more golfers
Idaho's Sun Valley Club is known mostly for its 200-plus inches of snow a year, but the 2008 addition of an indoor golf simulator has given the resort more options for its members and created a year-round golf hotspot. "The simulator allows us to video swings and provides feedback on swing speed, club path, launch angle, efficiency, and face angle," says Jeff Petersen, Sun Valley's director of golf. "It provides another outlet for a guest looking to take a break in the winter or a serious golfer looking for empirical data to improve their game."
