- Valero could run more Eagle Ford Shale crude at Gulf Coast refineries
Valero Energy would need little or no investment to run an additional 235,000 barrels per day of Eagle Ford Shale crude at its refineries on the Gulf Coast, said Chairman, President and CEO Bill Klesse. The approval of TransCanada's Keystone XL pipeline will make running crude from the Texas formation unnecessary, he said. "We still believe Keystone will be built on Obama's time line with approval in early 2013 and completion in 2014 or 2015," Klesse said. Reuters
