  • Flying's editor: LSA market will never be strong
    The idea to create the light sport aircraft category was a "stroke of brilliance," writes Flying's editor in chief Robert Goyer. Unfortunately, it didn't work. Manufacturers were expected to save money with the simplified certification process and pass the savings to the consumer.   • Bizjets are not powered by lithium-ion batteries
    The only business jet currently certified with a lithium-ion battery is the Cessna Citation CJ4 -- but it is no longer flying with it.     Mayor Wayne Fleming of Franklinton, La., says that plans to update the areas municipal airport will be completed over a five-year period. Proposed improvements include new fencing, a fuel-system for airplanes and additional hangars.
