  • Drones could fly in commercial airspace under new law
A new law will allow civilian drones to occupy the same airspace as commercial jetliners. Some critics have raised privacy and other concerns, but supporters point out that drones already fly in military airspace and other areas. "We're operating [drones] on the border, and law enforcement uses them," Rep. Sam Graves, R-Mo., said. "We have practice flights when we're training in the Army and Air Force," said Graves. "We're surveying the border a lot with them because they could stay up there for hours and hours and circle the same spot." KSPR-TV (Springfield, Mo.) (2/23) LinkedInFacebookTwitterEmail this Story

"But the technology just wasn't available." The New York Times (tiered subscription model) (2/23) LinkedInFacebookTwitterEmail this Story
