  • ONC cites improved use of EHR functions under MU effort
    The use of certain EHR functions, such as active drug lists, among acute-care hospitals has improved under the federal meaningful use effort, according to the ONC, citing data from the American Hospital Association. The data, presented at the HIMSS13 conference, also indicated that 16 of the 24 MU goals analyzed had an adoption rate of 80% or more in 2012.   • Telehealth firm offers money-back guarantee to IVR users
    A money-back guarantee is being offered by telemedicine company AMC Health to hospitals, accountable care organizations and other customers that use its interactive voice response technology and case management services if they don't experience a reduction in hospital readmissions within 90 days. John Holland, senior vice president for research and business development at AMC Health, also said his company is testing an inhaler device that works like a smart pill bottle to boost medication adherence by patients with respiratory illnesses and allow caregivers to monitor their condition.
