    National HIT Coordinator Dr. Farzad Mostashari acknowledged the states with the most advanced adoption of meaningful use of EHRs at the ONC's annual meeting last week. Among the states with the highest percentages of providers receiving EHR incentives are Maine, Delaware and Massachusetts.   • Study ties cost savings, better outcomes to telestroke networks
    Telestroke networks lead to more patients being discharged to home, and upfront development costs are offset by more patients getting clot-busting drugs and less stroke-related disability, according to researchers from the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix.   • GAO report sheds light on 2011 EHR incentives for hospitals
    Pediatric hospitals were 1.6 times more likely and acute care facilities were 1.7 times more likely to receive Medicaid EHR incentives for last year than were critical access hospitals, according to a report released by the Government Accountability Office. The report also showed 57% of hospitals with incentives were not affiliated with a medical system chain, while the same percentage were nonprofit hospitals.
