- Okla. gets an airplane that is configured for medical emergencies
McAlester, Okla., is home to a Beechcraft King Air C-90, specially-configured for medical emergencies, the only airplane of its kind in the state. The aircraft has advantages over a helicopter in certain situations, said Patrick Barkley, EagleMed's regional program director. - Helicopter filming in Colo. county is on a case-by-case basis
Colorado's Pitkin County has decided to add a new rule to the county's land-use code prohibiting the use of helicopters for filming purposes, but approval for certain uses is still possible on a case-by-case basis. According to a draft of the code, uses that could be approved must have a "clear and demonstrable marketing benefit to the community" and must not present any danger to wildlife. - Va. lawmaker is sponsoring a bill to limit UAVs in state
A Virginia lawmaker is sponsoring legislation to limit the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the state. The bill would require law-enforcement agencies to get a warrant before deploying UAVs, except in cases of emergencies. The bill would also require agencies to receive General Assembly approval before acquiring UAVs. The Washington Times
