  • U.S. expands cybersecurity information sharing under executive order
    Defense contractors Lockheed Martin and Raytheon have joined a Department of Homeland Security information sharing program formed by President Barack Obama's executive order on cybersecurity, which will give the companies access to classified data needed to prevent cyberattacks. AT&T and CenturyLink are also taking part in the initiative. Participants in the DHS Enhanced Cybersecurity Services program will receive information such as coding and timestamps utilized in attacks, which they can use to bolster their cybersecurity offerings.   • AIA supports White House in plan to relax export controls
    The White House is making progress on a plan to allow U.S. companies to sell more parts of fighter jets as exports. The Aerospace Industries Association supports the change in export controls. "The inflexible application of export-control restrictions, coupled with their lack of clarity, has long been a burden to the U.S. defense industrial base, a barrier to cooperation with our military allies and partners and a boon to our foreign competitors," said Marion Blakey, president and CEO of AIA.
