  • ADA releases new guidelines for diabetes care
People with diabetes should have their blood pressure assessed during every primary care visit, and a treatment goal of up to 140 mm Hg may be appropriate for some patients, according to the American Diabetes Association's annual "Standards of Medical Care in Diabetes" guidelines. The standards also suggest a patient-specific schedule for blood glucose monitoring in diabetes patients on multiple-dose insulin or insulin pump therapy. The guidelines appear in the January issue of Diabetes Care. Healio/Endocrine Today (12/21) LinkedInFacebookTwitterEmail this Story

"GAO is recommending that the Administrator of CMS direct the Innovation Center to expeditiously complete its process to review and eliminate any areas of unnecessary duplication in contracts that have been awarded in one of its models," the agency said.
