- Hershey joins Dow Jones sustainability index
Hershey has been added to the Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index, which measures efforts of some large companies. Hershey also recently pledged to source all cocoa from sustainable-certified farms by 2020. "Our commitment to operating our business in a socially responsible manner while bringing goodness to the world is yielding tangible results and helps support and advance our growing global business," said Terence O'Day, senior vice president of global operations. - Betty Crocker adds cake mix, updates packaging
Betty Crocker has added a Red Velvet cake mix with cream cheese frosting in the U.K., and has revamped its packaging for cookie and cake mixes. NCA's Expo was ranked among the fastest growing trade shows in 2011 by Trade Show Executive magazine. TSE recognizes its Fastest 50 winners for their rapid growth and acknowledged the Expo's 13% exhibitor growth over 2010. Scientists at the Institute for Food Technologists have developed a method which they say will help chocolatiers create products with desirable bitterness levels.
