Cocoa Family has introduced a program that uses QR codes to give manufacturers detailed information about cocoa ingredients, including where they were grown and when they were harvested. "It is not enough anymore to just be labeled organic or kosher. - Editorial: Congress should roll back sugar subsidies
The U.S. Department of Agriculture said it may have to buy sugar back from processors who are defaulting on government loans. Like other subsidies, this one benefits a few at the expense of many, argues a Bloomberg editorial. "Congress plans to take another shot at writing a farm bill this year.
