- Clearwire wants to keep options open despite taking Sprint funding
Clearwire is accepting an offer of $80 million in funding from suitor Sprint Nextel while continuing negotiations with DISH Network, which also wants to buy the wireless company. Sprint, which has a majority stake in Clearwire, said in December that it would acquire the remaining portion, but DISH has intervened with a higher bid. In a related matter, DISH urged the government to probe more deeply into Softbank's offer to buy Sprint. Reuters

DISH Network has been pointing to its "stronger" ad offerings when advertisers raise concerns about its ad-skipping Hopper set-top box, Adam Gaynor, the company's director of ad sales, told an industry forum this past week.
