- Bundling makes good business sense, Time Warner Cable CEO says
The traditional bundled-channel pay-TV model not only is appealing to most consumers but also pays the "infrastructure" costs of developing new content and technology, Time Warner Cable CEO Glenn Britt said at an industry event. "If bundling is so bad, why do 90% of the cable households buy something they don't have to? The people who watch most of the TV like this product. - Lucrative cable deals help baseball teams keep star performers
The advent of the DVR has helped place a premium on live sports, motivating cable programmers to open their wallets for lucrative contracts with such Major League Baseball teams as the Los Angeles Angels, the Texas Rangers and the San Diego Padres. Players, particularly free agents, are benefiting from their teams being flush with cash.
