- Chemical firms should look to intermodal for their shipments
Intermodal transportation can be a boon to chemical shippers because it takes away "problems associated with today's limited capacity of over-the-road trucking while reducing freight costs, carbon footprint and even safety concerns," writes Stephen Hamilton, managing director at ChemLogix Global. - Vt. governor to sign fracking-ban measure, aide says
Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin backs a ban on hydraulic fracturing, said Sue Allen, a spokeswoman for the governor. Last week, the state's Legislature cleared a bill banning the drilling technique, and legislative staffers are conducting a final review of the measure before it is forwarded to the governor. American Chemistry Council CEO Cal Dooley to deliver keynote address at 2012 Polyurethanes Technical Conference
As the chemical industry celebrates 75 years of polyurethane, speakers at the 2012 Polyurethanes Technical Conference will both honor its history and discuss the latest developments that will impact the global outlook for years to come. Hosted by the Center for the Polyurethanes Industry of the American Chemistry Council, this year's conference will take place Sept. 24 to 26 at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta. ACC President and CEO Calvin M. Dooley will deliver the keynote address at this year's opening session. Dooley will discuss the latest news and trends in today's chemical industry, including ACC's advocacy work on chemical regulation reform and energy policy.
